Q: Do you recycle other products?
A: Due to the individual state requirements, we currently only accept the products listed on this site. Contact your local state natural resources or solid waste agency for more information.

Q: If I turn in my old electronic equipment, can I ever get it back?
A: 
Once you send us your items, they enter our processing lines, and are not able to be returned to you. Therefore, it is important that you give up ownership when you send us your items, and that you are the rightful owner before giving up your items.

Q: Will I be charged for recycling?
A: OEMTakeBack.com pays for the safe collection and processing of your old electronic equipment.

Q: Do I need to remove any batteries before I bring my material?
A: You should keep batteries in the devices for safety during transportation. Just make sure the devices are turned off. If you choose to remove the battery, please make sure to tape over the battery connectors. We will make sure that all of the batteries we receive are reused or recycled in an environmentally responsible manner.

Q: What happens to any personal data found on my items?
A: All products received are destroyed using an industrial shredder specifically designed to process hard drives and electronic media. 

Mailback Program

Q: Do you recycle other products?
A: Due to state legislative and other requirements of this program, we currently only accept the products listed on this site. Contact your local state natural resources or solid waste agency for more information.

Q: have multiple items to recycle. Can I send them all in one package?
A: As long as your combined weight of your package is under 50 lbs. you can package up multiple items together. Be aware when you register, our system will still treat each item as its own package and produce a prepaid label for each. Just use one of the prepaid labels produced for the outside of your box, but for better tracking please include inside the box the copy of the shipping labels that we produce for each product.

Q: Will you take my television or monitor via mailback?
A: Televisions and monitors that weigh under 50 lbs. are eligible for this mail back service. If you have a larger television or monitor, you will need to consult with your local municipality to determine what resources are available.

Q: What about my accessories - will you recycle them too?
A: Yes, we accept all accessories that are included with your items for recycling.

Q: If I send you my old electronics, can I ever get them back?

Q: If I recycle my items via mailback, who pays for the postage and freight?
A: OEMTakeBack.com pays for in-bound freight by providing a pre-paid shipping label that you print on your own printer. The label is then emailed to you. 

Q: How do I send you my old electronics for recycling?
A: Simply complete the OEMTakeBack.com registration process and package up your product, include the packing slip and attach the pre-paid shipping label to the outside. Items that are shipped via FedEx can be dropped off at your nearest FedEx drop-off. You are not required to include the original box, manuals, or other accessories with your recycled product.

Q: Can I participate from outside the U.S.?
A: To ensuring proper end of life product management in accordance with local and federal regulations the program is only available in the U.S. at this time.

Packaging

Q: What should I do if I don't have packaging materials, including a box, to pack the product?
